For those Xbox users that don’t know… there was a recent price change for Xbox LIVE Gold subscription that was mentioned over on the Major Nelson blog. He states that

as of November 1, 2010 we are increasing the price of an Xbox LIVE for some members. This price increase only affects Xbox LIVE Members in Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom or the United States.

So this means you should stock up on 12 month Xbox 360 Live Subscription Gold Cards while you can before the price increase.

I guess we should thank… Last FM, Twitter, Facebook and any other useless advertising space that is filled up on the Xbox live dashboard for the price increase. It’s like almost like every other day the PlayStation 3 is looking better and better.Similar Posts:

Call of Duty: Classic – Now Available for Download

It was back on December 1st Infinity Ward announced that Call of Duty: Classic is available for download. It’s also available for the PS3 for only $14.99… Here is what Xbox.com has about the game:

Really No Party Chat in Modern Warfare 2 WTF?

Am I the only one who thinks that the limits of not having party chat for different game modes in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 a bit ridiculous? I guess the people at Infinity Ward haven’t really spent anytime in the open online public games where all you hear are a bunch of whining cry babies who complain about how you owned them with the n00b-tube the last match but they don’t mention anything about how they camped the whole game… So to solve this problem and no longer hear the complainers I simply did the following and it solved all my problems.

I changed my settings to where all I hear are just my friends who are on my friends list… It’s kind of like having a 24/7 party chat going on. If you would like to see how amazing this feature is just follow the steps below.

Click the “Xbox” button in the middle of your controller.
Scroll the the far right panel called “Settings“.
Then select “Profile“.
Then select “Edit Profile“.
Then “Privacy Settings“.
After you’ve clicked “Privacy Settings” a new screen will show up then click on the “Voice and Text“.
Once you’ve done the above steps you’ll be able to see the setting “Friends Only” select that and save the settings.
When the settings are saved you’ll only hear your friends chatting when it comes to gaming.

One really good thing about switching my setting this way is that now my friends i’m actually in the match with let me know when someone is around the corner or where they just got shot.Similar Posts:

Really? $50 a year for Silverlight ads on my Xbox 360

After reading Major Nelson’s post about Silverlight ads on Xbox 360 and his explanation of how ads are going to be “a more organic part of the dashboard” I just sit back and ask myself why am I paying $50 a year to have ads shoved in my face. Here’s an idea the people at Mico$oft can think about… why not place all the ads you want on the Silver account holders? Ohhh wait I’m sure that once they too see the ads they’ll soon wonder “why would I pay $50 a year to have ads shoved in my face?” hmmm… I may just be eyeing up a discounted PS3 that usually come out around the holiday. ehh this is just my opinion I can only imagine what’s in store next a possible Xbox Live price increase? Whoa I’d better not give anyone any ideas… So what does everyone else think about the ads being punched in your face?Similar Posts:

Xbox Live going to Add Facebook and Twitter

That’s right if you haven’t heard already… Xbox Live will be adding Facebook and Twitter to their platform which was announced on Monday June, 1st at the E3 2009 Conference. However, the Facebook and Twitter integration will not be available on Xbox Live until later this fall. One of the cool feature I was reading over on Gizmodo is that you’ll be able to send “in-game screenshots to your Facebook (Facebook reviews) profile in real-time” which I think is a pretty awesome function. And probably the only reason I’d sign up to even have my Xbox 360 link to my Facebook and Twitter profiles.Similar Posts:

The press release below explains pretty much what the Microsoft Xbox 360 has achieved so far in the 2009 year… Ahhh but in my opinion what they don’t tell you is the real reason why. Think about it for a second… (times up) you have had your Xbox 360 roughly since 2006 and it’s 2009 that’s 3 years ago the 3 year warranty has expired and you get the red ring of death a day after the warranty expired. What do you do? hmmm… I know what I’d do buy another Xbox 360 of course! which means more money for Micro$oft. It’s as if the Xbox 360 was released all over again. Yeah yeah granted they did extend the warranty till November but, that was back in April when they mentioned the extension. Ehh but take my opinion the way you want… It’s just what I see thanks and enjoy the press release.

Year-over-year growth jumps as Xbox 360 console sales hit 30 million globally and Xbox LIVE community reaches 20 million users.

REDMOND, Wash. — May 28, 2009 — Microsoft Corp. announced today that sales of Xbox 360 consoles have passed the 30 million mark globally, with its Xbox LIVE community swelling to more than 20 million active members. After the biggest year in its history in 2008, Xbox 360 achieved the highest percentage growth in hardware sales of any console so far in 2009, up 28 percent over the previous year.1

The success of the platform can be measured across the business, with Xbox LIVE now considered the world’s largest global entertainment network. Increasing consumer desire to connect with friends, download and enjoy blockbuster movies and TV shows, and extend the life of their favorite games has been the primary driver behind the growth of Xbox LIVE membership and the reason Xbox continues to expand offerings on the platform.

Over the course of this console generation, U.S. consumers alone have spent $14.5 billion across all categories on Xbox 360 at retail.1 This number reflects strong interest in a comprehensive entertainment offering that includes the ability to connect with others socially and to digitally download entertainment, be it games, TV shows or movies. To date, consumers have downloaded nearly 1 billion pieces of gaming and entertainment content from Xbox LIVE Marketplace, including a broad array of premium high- and standard-definition movies and TV shows from top studios and networks around the world.2

In addition, Xbox 360 continues to be the platform of choice for the industry’s top games, generating $5.9 billion in sales to date at U.S. retail for third-party publishers, which is more than those of current-generation consoles combined.1 Xbox 360 also leads current-generation consoles in game purchases, with consumers owning an average of 8.3 titles each.1

Since that time, the community has recorded a 136 percent increase in new members, TV and movie downloads have more than doubled, and purchases of games, Game Add-ons and more on Xbox LIVE Arcade have increased by 70 percent.2 Xbox LIVE reaches 26 countries worldwide and is now in more homes than any satellite television provider.2 Before the end of the year, the number of Xbox LIVE members will surpass the number of subscribers to the largest cable provider.1 Consumers can expect more exciting announcements from Microsoft next week as Xbox 360 kicks off the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the world’s premier trade show for computer and video games and related products, with its press briefing on Monday, June 1, in Los Angeles.

Would you like to see what your xbox live avatar looks like without going onto your xbox..? Or would you like to see other peoples xbox live avatars..? Well if so then below is that detailed instructions on how to do just that!

1.) Click this link: http://avatar.xboxlive.com/avatar/antivinegar/avatar-body.png
2.) Next highlight just the gamer tag (see image below)

3.) Once you do that press delete and place your gamer tag in that spot and then press enter.

Once you’ve complete the 3 easy steps above then you’ll be able to see your xbox live avatar. Below is what mine looks like… the link is an official xbox.com link so if you were to post the link anywhere and tweak your avatar the updates you do would reflect onto the link…

According to Switched.com 16% of Xbox 360 are broken. Although some retailers have suggested the the rate is as high as the 30 percent. I know that i’m on my second Xbox 360 and I hope I don’t have to get one any time soon. Here is what happened to my with my last one (link). I was lucky in that event of exchange… But for the Xbox 360 to have a broken rate of 16% that is crrazy! You would think people are investing $300+ into a gaming system Micro$oft would at least spend a little more time on having a good internal system so it won’t show the “Red Rings of Death” after a few months of having your Xbox 360 console. When you hit a level 55 in the game Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare for the Xbox 360. There is an option that is given that allows you to go “Prestige Mode” it’s almost like a way of saying give up all your current weapons, classes, and challenges to start all over again with a nice little Prestige Mode Icon / Badge. If you choose to take the option of Prestige Mode then you can continue to go Prestige for the max of 10 times (55 levels times 10). Its all done to pretty much show theses awesome Prestige Badges / Icons that are listed below.
