I guess people couldn’t wait to get their hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Because over at InformationWeek they have a detailed article explaining the situation. It also mentions how some of the players actually modified their consoles to play pirated games…

Aside from all the people being banned Major Nelson recently twitted the following statement… “We just hit a new #XboxLIVE record: Over TWO MILLION people connected to the service at once.” Which is pretty impressive since they are now missing over a million people. Ehhh one good thing the banned Xbox 360 gamers can look forward to is that they now sell the PlayStation 3 for only $299.00 over on Amazon.Similar Posts:

To those who don’t know yet Microsoft recently announced that a Xbox Dashboard update will be scheduled for Xbox Live on August 11. The update is set to include these new features…

Games on Demand.
There is going to be an Avatar Marketplace and Avatar Awardables.
The ability to rate games.
Changes in the way your achievements are displayed.
Account Recovery resources.
Friends list sorting options (alphabetically, last login, activity etc.).
Video Display Options so if you’re using an HDMI cable with your connection.
The ability to look at account info and it answers questions like “how to change my gamertag” from Xbox Live.
Improved Netflix performance. Invite friends to a movie party.

Really? $50 a year for Silverlight ads on my Xbox 360

After reading Major Nelson’s post about Silverlight ads on Xbox 360 and his explanation of how ads are going to be “a more organic part of the dashboard” I just sit back and ask myself why am I paying $50 a year to have ads shoved in my face. Here’s an idea the people at Mico$oft can think about… why not place all the ads you want on the Silver account holders? Ohhh wait I’m sure that once they too see the ads they’ll soon wonder “why would I pay $50 a year to have ads shoved in my face?” hmmm… I may just be eyeing up a discounted PS3 that usually come out around the holiday. ehh this is just my opinion I can only imagine what’s in store next a possible Xbox Live price increase? Whoa I’d better not give anyone any ideas… So what does everyone else think about the ads being punched in your face?Similar Posts:

Gears of War 2 Double XP 4th of July Weekend

Ahhh yes nothing like starting the 4th of July holiday weekend off right by having Double XP for Gears of War 2. Here is what was mentioned over on the EpicGames forum…

Starting Friday morning you’ll be receiving double XP as well as a 500 XP bonus awarded to the winning team. And to give a little extra bang to Horde we’re bringing the Ticker squad (a group of Tickers that all spawn at the same time) into full effect. They’ll be showing up a lot more throughout all the waves of Horde and they’ve completely infested every 10th wave with nothing but Tickers. So if you’ve been having trouble with Bloodmounts, this weekend is a good time to get your Horde on and get further than ever before. And don’t forget that TU4 will give you experience for every wave you beat.

The awesome double XP event will end on Monday morning on July 6th. So if you down have the game borrow it from a friend who doesn’t know about it or pick up a used one and save it for the next double XP weekend.Similar Posts:

The game known as “This is Vegas” is pretty much going on my to buy list. The game is packed with action! While playing the game you are allowed to do some of the following; Build a reputation by racing cars and making cash, Gamble by playing slots, blackjack, or poker and in addition to Dance in clubs and hook up with random girls. Now I don’t know about you but just from those three things the game is in my book awesome. The game seems as if you could combine GTA & Saints Row to create a game with their feature and designed it to take place in Vegas.

Granted on my blog you may see ALOT of information about glitches, easter eggs, and cheats. Even though I blog about them I must say use them at your own risk because, if you were caught do the recent cheat to unlock the hard achievements on Gears of War 2 you might just run the risk of getting your gamerscore reset by Microsoft… according to Major Nelson. If you are looking for more information on achievement cheats then visit Xbox.com they more details on the practice of “Gamerscore corrections,” as they’re called.

Microsoft Extend Warranty on Xbox 360 to cover E74

Apparently Microsoft is extending their warranty plans for the Xbox 360 due to the E74 errors. This error occurs when the Xbox 360 console experiences a general hardware failure. So if you’ve paid for repairs then Microsoft may refund you the money… Here is a snippet of what they have to say.

Microsoft will refund to customers the amount paid for an out of warranty repair due to a general hardware failure associated with the e74 error message. Those customers should automatically receive the refund within 4-12 weeks, and no additional action by customers should be necessary. However, if a customer has not received a refund by July 1, 2009, the customer should visit www.xbox.com/support before November 1, 2009 for information on how to place a claim. Is your Xbox 360 console displaying the error message E74? Then you can submit a console-repair request online. However, before you submit your request, first try the following steps to verify the problem:

Turn the console off and on. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the console.
2. Disconnect all the cables.

4. Turn the console back on.
