bit.ly stats
(photo: credits)

If you’ve ever received a link that looked like this “http://bit.ly/XwvPr” or if you’ve seen people using them over on twitter you may not know this but, they use them to track the statistics of people. There are other sites out there that do similar click statistics however, I’ve notice that the Bit.ly seem to be the more popular ones and I use them myself.

In order to view the statistics of a link you simply do the following…

  1. Copy the link that you were sent or one that you’ve come across such as this one “http://bit.ly/XwvPr“.
  2. Once you’ve copied the link paste it in your browser address bar.
  3. Then between the “.ly/” and the code “XwvPr” add the word “info/” so the link should look like this “http://bit.ly/info/XwvPr

If you’ve followed the steps above you will be able to view the stats of any Bit.ly link.

How to add / find page queries and load time

cued information

I recently implemented code into the footer of my blog that allows me to see how many queries were cued and the load time. I know it’s random information to some people but I actually like the fact that I can see it on my blog.

Would you like to add it to your blog? Well if you have the ability to access your blogs HTML code then below is the code and instructions on how you too can add it to your site.

Copy the code in Orange below…

<?php echo get_num_queries(); ?> queries. <?php timer_stop(1); ?> seconds.

Then place it towards the bottom of your site before the closed body tag that looks like this </body>

After you place the code on your site save it then upload the file. Once you upload the file open up your web browser (Firefox) then view your blog. When you view your blog it should look like the above image but with your sites info.

AlexaStats
I am pretty excited because, I recently check out one of my fellow bloggers (blogtbt.com) who had written a post about the the New Alexa Ranking System. So, after reading his blog post I decide to check out my own Alexa Rank which I am proud to say it is now under 100k!!! I recall a while back I posted about being in the low 300k’s. I must say that is pretty awesome considering i’ve been trying to break 100k for a while.

Now I just need to work on my Google page rank and getting people to subscribe to my RSS feed. hint.. hint…
