How Much is a Blog Really Worth?

Selling my Blog Soul
(photo: credits)

When it comes to the break down of a blogs value how do you really know what it’s worth..? That is the ultimate question. There are several ways online that can determine the worth of you blog whether it’s the amount of subscribers you have, the Google page rank you have, the amount of unique traffic you get monthly, or is it just what you think it’s worth?

When it comes to me trying to figure out how much my blog is worth I tend to factor in the time I spend / spent on working with my blog, as well as the maintenance cost of my blog (domain, hosting, etc) is an estimate tool going to factor those in as well..? So when it comes to the online estimating to (which i shall provide below) I tend to take them as simple advice but the ultimate value of my blog is what I think it’s worth.

Below are sites that allow you to get the value of your blog or site for free. Check them out see how much your site is worth!

BLOG VALUE ESTIMATORS   MY BLOGS VALUE
DNScoop $1,545
Business Oppotunities Blog $11,290.80
Your Website Value $43 (Potential: $4,160)
Estibot $30
Cwire $99
Smart Page Rank $96
Site Value Calculator $150
Website Value Calculator $103
Blog Perfume $216 - $432
Glurk $5,389
45n5 (self estimate) $2,106.64

Ahhhh… above is exactly my point when it comes to theses sites that estimate the value of your blog / website. What is this $43 for my blog.. WTF that would even fill the tank of my car… Now if you added about three zeros to the end of that number then we can talk ($43,000.00 for those who didn’t understand). When it comes to the “estimated values” above please that the prices go up and down monthly depending upon several factors; traffic, RSS subscribers, Technorati rank, Google Page Rank, and many more… Do you know of any other sites that offer a Blogs worth or Value? If so then leave a comment and share it with others.

As for someone leaving a comment brought to my attention that I forgot to provide resources of the information above (it was late when I posted)… Here are a few sites (it wasn’t just one site) that helped me acquire the information to find out “how much my blog is worth”… JohnCow, Blogote.com, InternetBabel.com and TheNetFool.com. Be sure to check them out as well to see what they have to say about the blog value estimators.

Project Wonderful Advertising

Friday, February 22nd, 2008 | Make Money, Marketing with No Comments »

Project WonderfulI’m trying out a new service called Project Wonderful. From my understanding the site is pretty much an online Advertising bidding network that allows people to advertise on my site for only $0.10 a day.. that’s right ONLY $0.10 a day. The banner size you would advertise on my site (if you choose to) is a 125 x 125 square banner. Which would be located in the upper right hand on this page just under the Subscribe RSS image. My advice would be to… buy an ad space for $0.10 before the space soon jumps up to $10.00 a day… (which would be hopeful) Unless you guys think $0.10 is to much…? Let me know what you think..

Trying out AdToll

Sunday, February 17th, 2008 | Make Money with No Comments »

I’m trying out this new advertising system called AdToll. If you check out the upper 468×60 banner there is a link underneath that says “Advertise Here” you can advertise on my site for only $0.20 a week! that is a steal! My current cost is only $1.25 per week to try it out… however if the advertising service works for me I shall increase the weekly cost. So advertise on my site while you can Click Here!

Where will the money go…

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008 | Personal, Random with 3 Comments

As tax timerolls around for another year I often wonder to myself what would happen if (god forbid) I died tomorrow..?

I often wonder this because, I make a good amount of money monthly from blogging and other websites that requires no real work to generate it. So if I were to pass away that means the checks / direct deposit would keep coming in… which is crazy because I seem to be the only one in my family who only knows my logins and my ways of making money. As for some of the revenue I generate from some of my sites it’s direct deposited into the same account my advertising costs come from… so If I were to pass away the revenue / advertising cycle would just keep going and going long after I’m gone…

What do you all think about the subject..? Have you thought about this same scenario at all..?

Losing $200,000 in Google Adsense

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007 | Make Money with 3 Comments

WOW.. when my account was banned from my Google Adsense I thought I had it rough just loosing my $6,000 - $8,000 for one month. But, then when I came across the story of two twins losing a $200k Adsense fortune I kinda felt relieved. Because I think I would rather lose what I lost then what they lost. Granted I was depressed and upset with myself when I couldn’t log into my account I could have only imagined what I would have done with the knowledge of loosing $200,000. And to top it all off at the end of the month around the time I usually got paid by Google I checked my bank account and I nearly had a heart attack because believe it or not Google Paid me!
