New Blog Redesign for Revenue Robot Site

Ahhhh I finally implemented the redesign of my blog (the one you’re reading) it has taken a few months of procrastination but I happy to say its finally done…! I’ll write another post soon explaining all the added features to the site. But for now let me know what you think by adding a comment below. My Blog Undergoing a Re-brand and Redesign

My blog (the one you’re reading) is undergoing a redesign which will allows me to re-brand my site to make an icon / avatar that is suitable for the name of the blog “revenue robot“. Above is a screen shot of what I plan on replacing this current site with… granted it needs some more tweaks here and there. The site should be replaced with the new template within a few more weeks (hopefully sooner). My new site will include a free downloadable eBook which shows you steps to take to start your own blog. I am also contemplating on rotating the backgrounds out each time the page loads kind of like the MTV website has theirs. I was recently searching for creative wordpress themes when I came across “Comic Press”. It’s a wordpress theme that is designed strictly for Comics. I came about this idea of the comic theme from doing a search via Project Wonderful and by doing so I’ve noticed a lot of the sites that generate $2+ a day for advertising are Comic based websites or blogs. Which would be a great niche market to target if you are creative enough to start a comic.

My New RevenueRobot Blog and Branding

Hello everyone…! If you’ve visited my site before you may notice a major change in things. Such as the blog layout and my RevenueRobot icon. Below is an image of what I had before and what I have now.

I’ve gone threw several different logo designs as well as icon designs before I just stuck with just one. In addition to the icons and logo I couldn’t decide on a color combo either. So I went with my favorite color “olive green” and lighter shades of green with a hint of gray.

So please let me know if you come across and bugs because this blog is a work in progress! As a note I am still leaving my old icon on my old site whereas it would be more of a pain to create something for that site. I’m keeping that content up till January of next year because, I still get traffic to the site and just wanted to keep it up a whole year before I took it down. Also please feel free to leave a comment on what you think of the new blog layout, coloring and/or branding icon.Similar Posts:

How Much is a Blog Really Worth?

When it comes to the break down of a blogs value how do you really know what it’s worth..? That is the ultimate question. There are several ways online that can determine the worth of you blog whether it’s the amount of subscribers you have, the Google page rank you have, the amount of unique traffic you get monthly, or is it just what you think it’s worth?

When it comes to me trying to figure out how much my blog is worth I tend to factor in the time I spend / spent on working with my blog, as well as the maintenance cost of my blog (domain, hosting, etc) is an estimate tool going to factor those in as well..? So when it comes to the online estimating to (which i shall provide below) I tend to take them as simple advice but the ultimate value of my blog is what I think it’s worth.

Below are sites that allow you to get the value of your blog or site for free. Check them out see how much your site is worth!

Ahhhh… above is exactly my point when it comes to theses sites that estimate the value of your blog / website. What is this $43 for my blog.. WTF that would even fill the tank of my car… Now if you added about three zeros to the end of that number then we can talk ($43,000.00 for those who didn’t understand). When it comes to the “estimated values” above please that the prices go up and down monthly depending upon several factors; traffic, RSS subscribers, Technorati rank, Google Page Rank, and many more… Do you know of any other sites that offer a Blogs worth or Value? If so then leave a comment and share it with others.

As for someone leaving a comment brought to my attention that I forgot to provide resources of the information above (it was late when I posted)… Here are a few sites (it wasn’t just one site) that helped me acquire the information to find out “how much my blog is worth”… JohnCow, Blogote.com, InternetBabel.com and TheNetFool.com. Twitter Color Wars 2008

If you follow anyone on Twitter you might notice that some of their friends may have a color attached to their icon or they may be wearing a solid color in a photo. Well any way you look at it there is a color war going on within twitter. You can check for yourself at Colorwar2008.com and find out information like how it got started, the games, and all the team colors. Although I haven’t joined the twitter color war yet… i’m still thinking about which color to join!

Above is a screen shot I took about 2 – 3 minutes ago when I tried to visit my old blog. Which is pretty much why I left Blogger in the first place… Now that I’m on Wordpress the only thing I have to worry about is if my blog gets too much traffic and I have to increase my Hosting package. I hate content / site thieves

I use Statcounter as my statistics tracker for my blog and many of my other sites that I have. Mainly for the easy user ability they have to offer and the easy to read charts and what not… However, I’m not writing about how great my statistics counter is I’m writing about how I tend to come across people stealing my stuff and leaving my statcounter tracking code on the page when they go to view it. (as seen in the photo below)
This has happened to me in the past with someone stealing my WHOLE portfolio design and using it for their company. I was a little ticked off because they were in another country and I really couldn’t do anything about it. Has this happened to anyone else…???

While recently surfing the net late night I just so happen to stumble across a useful way of pulling up incredible abouts of random information that people really should have blocked on their servers / the back ends of their websites. I figure that i’d share with you the simple way how I came across important information on the back end of peoples blogs / website…

Here is how you do it:
Step 1.) Go to any Search Engine…
Google.com, Yahoo.com, or MSN.com

Step 2.) Do a simple search for the following… intitle:”index of” (here is where you put what you want to search)

Step 3.) As for the Last step it’s up to you… Bookmark what you found or contact the person who’s information you found and let them know they need to increase their sites security!

This whole thing came to mind because somewhere recently I was reading about Internet Security. Enjoy the information and use it at your own risk… because you can find some crazy / weird content.
