If you use Facebook Places to check in and let everyone know where you are… then you might like this app called Gowalla. The app known as Gowalla allows you to check into Facebook Places, Twitter and Foursquare all at the same time while earning badges to show off to your friends. Granted with Foursquare you can earn discounts on restaurants, hotels and other similar places it just seems a little cooler to trade badges with others using Gowalla at particular check in locations.

The video above shows Pete Warden and Alasdair Allan in a 20 minute discussion about how they discovered the existence of the tracking database on the iPhone. Apparently it’s a big issue that has recently cause an alarm with some people and their privacy.

Over on CNN they have a great post called “Go ahead and jailbreak, it’s legal now“. The article states that the U.S Copyright Office ruled that jailbreaking an iPhone or other mobile device will no longer violate federal copyright law. So feel free to use the video above and jailbreak / unlock your iPhone. I suggest doing it fast before they change their minds!

I recently signed up and became addicted to this app called Foursquare. On Foursquare you can check into different places in and around your neighborhood as well as across the country which allows you to unlock badges. After unlocking a few badges of my own I’ve done some research to see what all is out there when it comes to badges. I’ve found a few sites (listed below) to be very useful when it comes to the Foursquare badges and how to get them. I’ve noticed some of them to be rare and even hard to get since they are for specific areas like New York or if they are for certain events / conferences.
