It was the other day I had stumbled across a few sites that were down and I had noticed different HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) status codes being displayed. Well, I know alot of the general ones so I figured I’d do some research to see what other error codes were out there. While researching I came across these very useful sites to help me understand the meaning behind the different status codes.
- Wikipedia – List of HTTP status codes
- Google Help – HTTP status codes
- Check Server Headers Tool – HTTP Status Codes Checker
Here are just a few of the different HTTP status codes you’ll find on the list of sites above.
- 200 OK
- 301 Moved Permanently
- 304 Not Modified
- 400 Bad Request
- 403 Forbidden
- 404 Not Found
- 407 (Proxy authentication required)
- 500 Internal Server Error
- 503 (Service unavailable)
- 505 (HTTP version not supported)
