While I was searching the net I came across the LEGO Star Destroyer and thought man ohh man $999 for LEGOS! I remember back in the day when they were only like $20 at the most for a set that you could build a car or building of some sort. But then again this one weighs over 20 pounds and has 3,104 Pieces.

The one pictured cost $99.99 and had 1367 pieces:

It was probably $300 MSRP when released, a lot for a single LEGO set, but it was the largest number of bricks in a LEGO set ever at the time. It certainly is a collectors display piece. The $100 is a lot more fun for kids…
