You seem to be the only person on the internet who has knowledge of how to remove this virus without having to completely wipe your hard drive clean and start from scratch. I was on the verge of doing that when I found your post. I had tried EVERYTHING. I had several antivirus programs, none of which were able to find the virus. Within a week of getting this virus, my computer had gotten to the point where windows wouldn't even boot up. Thank you for saving me the time, frustration, and possibly the money of paying someone to wipe my hard drive. Taking the steps you mentioned, got my computer back into better condition than it's been in a long time. THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU for posting this. After I restarted the pc from safe mode after running the malware bytes, the virus seemed to try and delete malwarebytes. Thankfully Spybot caught onto it before it was too late. And yes, I'm not exactly a pc genius but maybe you should mention about using another antivirus as well?
