The 2008 Obama and McCain Tax Proposals

September 24th, 2008   | Filed in: Make Money, Random

A friend of mine recently sent me an article on Obama and McCain Tax Proposals. The article shows that while McCain offers a $269,364 tax cut, Obama would raise the taxes, on average, by $701,885 – a difference of nearly $1 million. Check out the image below to see exactly what i’m saying…

You do realize that the $701,885 increase in taxes would only apply to those families whose income was greater than $2.87M, right?

Indeed. Obama’s plan raises more taxes on average if you look at brackets like that, but for the majority of citizens (and voters), they’ll see a larger decrease in taxes with Obama. Meanwhile, McCain would give the largest tax cut to the smallest group of people that needs it the least.
