Okay… the G3 AND the M14 in the game are semi-automatic because they’re more powerful and having them available firing full auto would unbalance the game. Same with the 3-round burst on the M16.

In the real world the G3, M14, and M16, are selective-fire assault rifles that can indeed fire fully automatic.

And Jasper actually you can compare them quite well with the AK-47 and M16… they’re all built for the same purpose and none of them are really any more modern than the other ones.

I totally agree w/ all of that and there’s a reason they have the g3 as semi automatic, perfect countersnipe, and to balance the weapons

Don’t forget guys that the G3-A3 or A4 (I don’t recall which model is featured in the game) is an old school battle rifle(check wikipedia). Not to be confused with or compared to modern assault rifles like AK-47 or M-16. It’s relatively small mag (holds up to 20 rounds max) and the recoil due to it’s larger caliber (old school NATO 7,62×51)constricts it’s use as a proper full-automatic, close-quarter assault weapon. Try charging with it down a corridor or an alley and you’ll find yourself out of bullets before you can say “tinder and flint”. Not good at all. But when the fight takes place out in the open the G3 shines. Just learn to use it properly: a)Become comfortable with it’s iron sights. Always take good aim before squeezing the trigger. b)Never-ever use full-auto fire. Avoid small bursts as well. You’ll just waste precious ammo and give away your position. Shoot at semi-automatic mode; one squeeze-one round, pretty much like sniping.
G3 may be an old workhorse but when used properly can punish pretty well.

infinity ward put the multiplayer G3 and the m16a4 on different modes of fire for balancing purposes

Best gun – M40 ACOG – I love quick scoping with this thing
Worst gun – Mini uzi or either shotty
Best perk – Obviously, stopping power. Dead silence (key for free-for-all)
Worst perk – Eavesdrop

personally i dont see the point in the RPG
its meant to do good splash damage, bur people dont use it for that at all

(its also meant to be used against tanks)
