am i the only one? I was a level 3 in the bad company demo but my rank didn’t carry over to the game. Is anyone else having this problem?

EA/DICE always wipes the stats when the actual games come out. Nothing carries over from betas or demos. Everyone starts from scratch.

the ranks numbers, and xp is correct, but the icons are all wrong after rank 7…
What the hell is this. These ranks are nowhere near the right ranks for any branch of the military, different country or not. The ranks dont even go in a consistant order or even corrispond with each other. The names do not match the rank insignias what so ever. DICE messed this one up real good.
The above ranks are correct and in the proper order. For some reason EA used the wrong names when it came to the order of the Bad Company ranks.
If you do the following it prove the ranks and names are correct and in order simply visit this link: ” http://badcompany.ea.com/Images/Gos/Ranks/Large/R001.png ” and change the last number to the next rank which would be “R002.png” and now do that for the 25 ranks (rank 25 being the following “R025.png” ) and if you do it properly you will have the icon for each rank in the correct order.
I can only guess the person who laid out the Bad Company Ranks at EA decide to mess with everyone when it came to the ranking system or they knew nothing of the military ranking system that is all I can think of.

Nothing wrong with hanging back and sniping, it’s part of the game and helps create a good team. If you’re referring to the whining after getting killed by a tank then fair point.
Even the ones of the battlefield homepage are wrong
They really messed up the rank icons… Hell even if the names were wrong they have the first lieutenant before the 2nd lieutenant and anyone who know ranks knows that the 2nd lieutenant rank is actually lower…
A simple google on “rank insignia” would have given them a list of correct ranks and names. And why the website rank screwup is different to the rank screwup ingame is anyones guess. Hell, they are supposed to be doing a military game and can’t even get the ranks right means it’s not a wonder that the game lags to hell and back.

The rank symbols are mixed-up. These are the symbols that appear on the website profiles, NOT THE GAME!!! I am making my own rank page at the time, it is a work-in-progress, but here it is:

The ranks posted on the site are the game ranks. I am currently rank 20(Colonel), so dont tell me im wrong! Buy the game, play through untill rank 10(itll take 5 days) and see how right i am!!!!!
@Coleman012 thanks for your “updated version” of the BF:BC multiplayer ranks… However if you read the post a lil (besides just looking at the ranks) you’ll notice that the ranks that are shown aren’t the “BF:BC Multiplayer Ranks” for Xbox Live… in fact they are the Ranks for the EA.com website… so if you visit: http://badcompany.ea.com create and account then login you’ll notice that there isn’t the same ranks as what you have on your site… apparently there are TWO sets of ranking…

ya i just figured that out, i didn’t read the comments at first. Its called real battlefield cuz I’ve at least 10 other websites with wrong names, experience, and everything! They even had made up symbols that were obviously fake… the worst part was people believed them! Sorry, i just overreacted… im hoping to get info on when you get credits for unlockables on the site very soon.

the ranks in the real world are PVT,PFC,Corporal,SGT,SFC,SSGT,MasterSGT,1stSGT,CSM, Command SGT Major is higher than a 5 star General
@1stSGT Thompson Command sergeant major is just below major, it just has command in to say tht he stays at command and help with battle tactics, they dont even step on the battlefield(which is kind of ironic because u actually do in BFBC) ?????
I think it’s pretty obvious that this game was pushed out of the door before it was debugged properly, thank god for this Gen. and online updates but there are a few problems I have found (these are all from online)
1. The scope on the sniper sometimes doesn’t follow the cross hairs so you are aiming into darkness only able to see a circle in the bottom of your screen.
2. On occasion a chopper will cause you to be looking at it from the front and you will have little to no control
3. And of course the ranks are way off from anything and seem like they were placed in random order.
Hopefully all of these issues will be addressed the ranking would be very easy change the name and symbol and leave the points as they are. I personally think they should be putting all effort into debugging and hold off on the new maps and conquest mode until everything works how it should.

Just reached Lvl. 20,and I think either you’ve shown the wrong badge because mine looks like the lvl. 17 one.
are you supposed to get a unlock credit every time you rank up? Becuase i get 1 every other time i rank up.
those ranks are wrong because im rank 19 with over 22000 xp but i have the badge for rank 12 above so those ranks are wrong tbh. because ive been all the star ranks which are bellow rank 12 so you need to redo them
It seems that those rank insignias match up with the ones on the bad company website, but in game they are different.

You need 37,000 for the highest rank and im on nearly 400,000 at the moment. My kill death ratio with the AN94 is now 40 and i play a green 2

rank 12 and 13 are wrong.. im rank 19 and i have the gold leaf
i dont know where 1stsgt went to the military at but no a sgm is not higher than a 5 star general. any officer of any kind out ranks an enlisted soldier even the SMA sargent major of the army its called respect
